With my knowledge and background in the science of Caring, kinuha ko ang attendance nila (4 years ko pinag-aralan yan!) kasama ang iba pang vital informations tulad ng kung saan sila tumatambay, edad, civil status at suking tindahan.
Bunny. 85 year old na ang lola mo pero umaariba pa rin. Would you believe na galing pa syang Batangas?
Sabi nila, pisikal or katawan lang daw ang tumatanda pero ung espiritu (or the inner man) mo hindi. Bakit nga ba tayo tumatanda, actually puro theory pa lang. I would like to enjoy the most of my youth.

Ascendancy of Slaves

During the Iron Age, wherein humans are still nomadic and life is a series of endless journey, a group of Astronesian-speaking migrants embarked on an island passing through the columns of bridge of earth. Times went through, and that island was populated by various inhabitants, merchants and others making it a mélange of races.

By the mid-to-late 16th century, wherein colonialism was rampant that archipelago was included in the Spanish East Indies and was referred to as Filipinas in honor of King Philip II of Spain, which lately becomes Philippines. It was 333 years of slavery, deception, and sadistic treatment to the natives of the country. Worst, the word indio which means dupe, ignorant or of low worth was coined to them.

The succeeding history was just a repetition of pernicious manipulation of perverted conquerors such as the Japanese and Americans making the indios suffered a profound humiliation in their dignity and on the other hand, fueled them to an enduring quest to liberty.

Independence was handed to Philippines century ago, as it was declared as a state or republic which has its own territory, people, government and sovereign power. Nevertheless, the search for freedom still persists and the chain of anguish lingers on. Reasons are still in dispute and it seems like an unanswered riddle, a message that haven’t decoded or a missing piece of a puzzle. Being a slave appears to be a legacy of Juan dela Cruz which will be passed unto the last of his lineage.

Presently, the world rotates in a fast-paced passion in which globalization was a focal point. Science is at peak as different human inventions surmount what is usual or normal in nature. Titans were busy invigorating themselves to a battle of supremacy at any cost. And in the opposite current, Filipinos lives in their heritage of smallness. Looking for greener pasture pilot their Diaspora to different foreign lands because ones progress seems impossible to a society filled of crab mentality. They toil hard and motivated by their aspirations, and mainly… as a slave.

Much to my dismay, I was born a Filipino, a product of the major exporter of domestic helpers, akin to the indios and a recipient of its affliction. This nostalgia with the pathetic stories of my forefathers bears them the guilt of my present condition and of the country as a whole. Why can’t they have the brains of Americans? Why can’t they have the guts of the Europeans? Why can’t they have the system of the Japanese? Why do we have to suffer such misfortunes? And why does it have to involve me? We’ve long been afflicted with an incurable disease which gradually eats up our every system, intoxicates our blood streams, weakens our defenses and such panacea would only be… God’s miracle!

I am young but determined to be freed of what it seemed to imprison my fellows. I delved the truth and I was enlightened that I really am a slave, a prisoner – a servant of God. Affiliating to the Church of God through baptism washed out all my anguish and released me from being a captive of this wicked materialistic world for I am now a citizen of His Nation. In Zechariah 13:9, God said “And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.” which pertains to a nation or a state composing of His people, His territory, His government headed by Christ and His divine and sovereign power which will last until eternity.

For certain reasons God has chosen the Philippines, an archipelago located in the Far East as prophesized in -Isaiah 24:15 “Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea”, land of the indios, dupe, of low worth in the sense of the world. Nevertheless, in God’s time, these despised people will humiliate the powerful, intelligent and rich that through their meekness they will be able to promulgate His Words as in Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” which will edify His Nation and will Exalt God to the highest.

Through His chosen messenger, I whole-heartedly accepted that I am destined to be a slave and I am proud to say I am a Filipino – the peculiar race which was chosen by God to promulgate his words worldwide. We don’t have the brains of American or the guts of European nor the system of Japanese. For whatever reason it is that I am called in His nation is only but… God’s miracle!

In the dark, I see His Light shines!
